Cylinders is a subsidiary of Worthington Industries, has
experienced phenomenal growth. Worthington Cylinders' facility
in Delaware County has grown from 70 employees in 1995 to
more than 300 in 1998. Worthington Cylinders moved its propane
cylinder plant from Columbus to Delaware County in 1994.
During peak season, the 100,000-square-foot manufacturing
plant produces more than 10,000 cylinders each day. Plant
Manager James Knox says, "we like doing business in Delaware
County. The commitment by Delaware County leaders in supporting
business needs was a key factor in our decision to locate
here. The City of Westerville and the county offered some
tax incentives to help us reach our decision." |
