Dempsey Technology Center

Dempsey Technology Center is an endeavor in expanding the role of the school system. The City of Delaware School District created this center, opened in January 1999, as a conduit for hands-on technology exploration. While currently the center serves middle- school students, eventually it will expand to accommodate grades K-12 and adults and local businesses. The center has thirty-four technology and career exploration stations. Subjects include: robotics, aerodynamics, video production, biomedical technology and more. Some of the hands-on equipment at the center includes: a desktop wind tunnel, small robotics, hydraulic simulators and machining equipment. The goal of the center is to get school-aged children interested in technology and introduce them to situations they would not experience in a traditional classroom. Additionally, in the future, the Center’s goal is to be used as a training site for businesses. This Dempsey Technology Center is the first of its kind in Ohio.
