Medical Services

Delaware County has access to the finest in today's latest medical advances. Local and area facilities provide first-rate services to meet every medical need.
Grady Memorial Hospital provides comprehensive health care to the residents of Delaware County. More than 100 physicians represent a full range of specialists. Care components offered by the hospital include: 24-hour emergency services, intensive/coronary care unit, cardiac rehabilitation program and hospice.

 

St. Ann's Hospital is a full-service, acute-care hospital located in Westerville, just south of Delaware County. In addition to primary and specialty physician practices, the attached medical office building houses St. Ann's Medical Equipment Services, St. Ann's Home Health, Westerville Radiology, Westerville Radiology Breast Center, St. Ann's Apothecary and a day care center.

Within a 45-minute drive of Delaware County, the Riverside Campus of Grant/Riverside Methodist Hospitals provides emergency services, a family practice center, an outpatient care center, and hospice. Health services for women are offered at the Elizabeth Blackwell Center.

The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus is less than 30 minutes away. Comprised of The Ohio State University Hospitals, the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Research Institute and The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health, its mission is patient care, teaching, and research.

The Smith Clinic in Delaware is home to eight physicians with specialties of family practice, ophthalmology and women's health. The clinic offers a wide range of services to meet the medical needs of the entire family, including on-site diagnostic laboratory and radiology services along with mammography and bone densitometry. In addition, a number of specialists from the Marion Smith clinic have regular office hours in the Delaware office.

Delaware County has county-wide 911 system and also maintains an emergency medical service consisting of five squad stations and four more planned. The completion of all of these stations will result in seven minute response time anywhere in the county. Additionally, the city of Delaware and Liberty Township have their own emergency services. There are 13 Fire Departments in the county with four departments employing full-time paid firefighters. These include Delaware, Liberty Township, Orange Township, and Tri Township. Fire departments routinely conduct extensive fire training in all industrial sectors as well as at local schools.
The Delaware City/County Health Department provides prenatal care, TB and hypertension screening, nutrition services and referrals. A variety of other valuable community health programs serve the area including: The Delaware Speech and Hearing Center, The Central Ohio Mental Health Center, The Delaware-Morrow County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board and the Delaware Area Recovery Resources.
